Whether you choose to openly reveal or to maintain your secrets, your identity is one of your more precious possessions. In this era of digital information sharing and hyper surveillance, our private self becomes more and more a public self.
Portrait photography makes this unspoken claim to reveal the inner self. Do you agree? How do we know that? What happens when you hide the information that the face presents? Is it still a portrait?
